2008 UCLA GOLF CLASSIC –
A “SWINGING” SUCCESS

The 2008 UCLA Golf Classic was a “swinging” success. Raising more than $70,000, this milestone event added up to a great score for the Orange County Alumni Scholarship Program, the Wooden Athletic Fund and the UCLA Fund Chancellor’s Associates.

Though afternoon clouds concealed the sun, there was no hiding the fun being had by over 400 Bruin golfers, volunteers, sponsors, celebrities and guests. Presented jointly by the UCLA Alumni Association/Orange County Bruins, the UCLA Fund Chancellor’s Associates and the UCLA Athletics Department, this sold-out fundraiser is the largest and most significant gathering of Bruins in Orange County.

Explains Head Football Coach Rick Neuheisel, "As an alumnus and member of the UCLA Athletics family, it was my privilege to participate in this momentous event. The impressive gathering of former coaches and players was a testament to our commitment to raise the excellence of UCLA through local fundraisers such as this. I look forward to next year's UCLA Golf Classic."

Joining newly appointed Head Football Coach Rick Neuheisel were former coaches and recognized athletes such as: Terry Donahue, Eric Karros, Cade NcNown, Tom Ramsey, Al Scates and Lynn Shackelford, among many notable Bruins.

In its history, this special event has raised over $270,000. Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of the 2009 UCLA Golf Classic, taking place May 4, 2009. For more information, join the interest list at UCLAgolfclassic.com.
